Call for Expressions of Interest: Electrical Engineer / Engineering Consultancy Partner
Hirundo is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineering Consultancy Partner, or multidisciplinary engineering team to support the development of the 60 MW Mohale's Hoek Wind Farm in Lesotho.
This assignment focuses on the planning, design, optimization, stakeholder alignment, and bankable costing of the project's electrical infrastructure, including the grid connection to the existing transmission network and the wind farm's internal electrical system.
The selected consultant will contribute to:
- Grid connection concept optimization and design
- Intra-park electrical network optimization
- Substation and transmission infrastructure planning
- Stakeholder engagement with utilities, regulators, and government institutions
- Electrical infrastructure cost estimates suitable for project finance due diligence
- (Optional) Grid integration studies
We welcome expressions of interest from individual consultants, engineering consultancies, and multidisciplinary teams with demonstrated experience in power systems, substations, transmission infrastructure, renewable energy, and grid integration.
Application Process
Hirundo uses a two-stage selection process.
Phase 1 – Expression of Interest
Submit a brief Expression of Interest (maximum two pages) including:
- Company or consultant profile
- Relevant experience
- One or two comparable projects
- Proposed approach and availability
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a detailed technical and commercial proposal during Phase 2.
